Happy Ramadan!
August 1st, 2011
Wishing you a blessed Ramadan. The holy month has arrived, a time for compassion and reflection. Faith, family and food!
This is a quilted wall hanging I made years ago in Seattle to make my home more festive during the month of Ramadan.
This is sooooooooo beautiful Holly. Ramadan Kareem to you and your family 🙂
Hi holly,
Ramadan kareem.
I miss seeing you and all your quilts at your home.
Ramadan Kareem to you and family Holly. Lovely quilt:)
Happy Ramadan, Holly!
Hi Friends, thanks for the kind words. Wishing you a great Ramadan–or just a great month of August! 😉
What does mubarak mean?
@Carla Stern MUBARAK shares the same root as the words mabruuk (congratulations) and barakat (blessings). In my mind it means “Have a blessed Ramadan” or “Ramadan greetings.” We also use the greeting EID MUBARAK at Eid time. Maybe a native speaker can shed more light….
Did you convert to Islam when you married a Muslim man? Or were you raised Muslim? Are you raising your kids Muslim? Just wondering, Kirsten from Gotham Workshops.
@Kirsten Hello & thanks for stopping by. After being married nine years to a Muslim man and doing lots of studying, I decided to convert. And yes, we are raising our children as Muslims.
Hello 🙂 This is such a cute wall hanging and I would love to make something similar for family or friends. The fabrics you used are just perfect for this. Thanks for sharing this inspiration!
